The Seattle Public Facilities District leases Safeco Field to the Seattle Mariners which manage operations and maintenance for all events in the facility.

Recognition

Since it opened, Safeco Field has consistently been ranked as one of the best ballparks in baseball by fans, players, websites and media outlets for experience, atmosphere and food.

  • In 2011, Safeco Field won the Venue Excellence Award for Stadiums by the International Association of Venue Managers.  The award recognizes venues that demonstrate excellence in the management and operation of public assembly venues. The winners were assessed on four criteria: service to the community, team building/professional development, safety and security, and operational excellence.
  • Also in 2011, Safeco Field received a Facility Achievement Award from the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security. The award recognized the ballpark's "outstanding achievement in security protocol.”  
  • Safeco Field was one of 150 structures in the U.S. selected by members of the American Institute of Architects as their favorite buildings in the U.S.
